We’ll be meeting in front of Yellow Canary’s at 6:00 and boarding the Lighthouse Trolley’s for a tour and social hour with a 6:30 departure. The board will provide snacks, ice and water, but BYOB! *Red Dress Ball- Another HUGE thank you to Kristen and all our committee heads for pulling together a beautiful ball!  It was a fantastic night that was enjoyed by all.  Not only was it a blast, but we raised a lot of money too.   On MAY 5th at 11:45 we will be presenting a check to the hospital for $10,000.00!  All club members are invited.  Please wear red to the check presentation.  Location information to come.

*There is a March of Dimes fundraiser tonight at Loco’s!  Please come out and show your support.  10% of all food and beverage sales will be given to the March of Dimes.  I know a few of our club members are already planning to be there in support.   So….grill out tomorrow night, and go up for some wings and a salad tonight at Loco’s.

*On May 11ththere will be a YWCA fundraiser featuring guest speaker Elaine Griffin.  Contact Patti L. or Amy B. for more details and tickets.

*The UGA Alumni’s local chapter is hosting a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, May 15th from 8 AM to 4 PM.  Expect more info to come your way from Joanna F.

*GaFWC Convention on Jekyll- As you know, there is a convention on Jekyll this weekend.  The BJWC is part of the 8th district in Georgia, and we are also responsible for helping to host this convention.  Little is needed, but I do need some girls to help out this Saturday from ~10:00 AM to 2 PM.  The Junior clubs in the 8th district are co-hosting a luncheon, and we need to help set up and orchestrate the event.  Please let me know if you can give us a hand.  Your help would be GREATLY appreciated!

*BJWC Board turnover- May will be the last month that the current board will serve the club.  We have enjoyed the last few years with you all very much, but it is time to turn over the reins to a new group of girls!  I am more than pleased to announce to you your new president, Mrs. Joanna Thompson Ferrier! She is going to do a FANTASTIC job.  When you see her, please give her a warm congratulations and welcome!

*May Party- Our last club meeting will be ‘little business and lots of fun’!  We will meet at the Ocean Lodge on Beachview Drive on Wednesday, May 12th at 6:30. We will hold our awards presentations and the new Board will be introduced to you.  It will be our last opportunity to share some time and some laughs before summer is upon us, so please try to come out and enjoy each other for this last club meeting of the year.

Wow!  We’ve got a lot going on.

Please let me know if you will be able to help out Saturday at the Convention, eat at Loco’s tonight, hug Joanna, look for fundraiser updates to come, and plan on being at the May party at Ocean Lodge!  If you have any questions about any of the above events, please let me know.

Many of us are directly affected by the public school Spring Break. As a result, we will NOT meet this Thursday, 4/1 (which is April Fool’s Day, don’t forget) but Thursday, April 15th. I will let you know closer to meeting time when and where the meeting will be held.

We are trying to compile pictures from this year’s club events – Pooch Parade, Red Dress Ball, Christmas Party, Summer Social, Peddlin’ Poker Run, trash pick-ups, Ziggy’s Night, First Friday, etc. If you have any pictures that you can send Rebecca electronically, please do so!  She’s going to try and put a CD together this weekend. If you have any pictures you can share, please take a minute and send them to her!

There will be raffle tickets for sale (AWESOME PRIZES!) and small family cover charge.  All proceeds will be added to our Red Dress Ball donation to Southeast Georgia Health Systems Cardiac Rehab Programs.

Families, counselors, and STAR teachers are welcome and encouraged to join us.  A scholarship check will be awarded to the Glynn County student that has scored the highest on the SAT.
The winning student will be asked to give a brief speech (3-5 minutes) and recognize their STAR teacher.
